Terms of use

Last updated: September 9, 2026

The rules for using Fluency and for buying our exam guides, in plain words. By creating an account, using the app or buying a guide, you agree to them.

1. Who we are and what this covers

The Fluency AI app and website are operated by FluencyAI (“Fluency”, “we”, “us”). These terms cover the Fluency app, this website, the Partner Program and the exam guides we sell. Please read them with our Privacy policy.

2. Your account and eligibility

You must be 16 or older, or have a parent or guardian agree for you where the law allows. Give us accurate details and keep your login safe; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@fluencyai.app if you think someone else is using it.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

3. What Fluency is, and isn't

Fluency is an AI speaking coach and learning tool. It is not a certified teacher, interpreter, immigration adviser or exam body. Replies and corrections are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date.

Do not rely on Fluency for legal, medical, immigration or other professional advice. We do not promise any particular result, score, level or visa outcome.

4. Fluency Plus, credits and top-ups

Fluency Plus is a monthly subscription that includes an allowance of conversation time, measured in credits. The current price and allowance are shown before you subscribe and in the app under Your plan.

Unused monthly credits do not roll over. When they run out you can use top-up credits, buy more, or wait for your plan to reset. We never charge you automatically for extra time.

Top-ups are one-time purchases. They do not expire while your account is open and have no cash value.

Subscriptions renew every month until cancelled. You can cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are billed by them and follow their rules for cancelling and refunds.

Prices, allowances and features may change. We will tell you before your next billing date, and you can cancel before the change applies.

5. Exam guides

Exam guides are digital PDFs. They are independent study material. Fluency is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Goethe-Institut, telc gGmbH, the BAMF, g.a.s.t., France Éducation International, CCI Paris Île-de-France, Paragon Testing Enterprises (CELPIP), the IELTS partners (British Council, IDP, Cambridge University Press & Assessment), IRCC or any government. Exam names are used only to say which exam a guide is about. Buying a guide does not guarantee a result.

Exam formats, scoring and entry rules change. Each guide states its edition. Always check the current rules with the exam body and the authority you are applying to.

Guides are sold and paid for on Selar. When payment succeeds your download link appears straight away and Selar also emails it to you. Selar's terms apply to the payment and the download.

If a download fails or the link does not arrive, check your spam folder, then use Selar's buyer support. You can also email support@fluencyai.app with the email you used to pay and we will help.

6. Licence to use guides and other content

When you buy a guide you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download it and read it for your own study. You may keep it forever and print it for yourself.

You may not share it, resell it, upload it to a public or group site, post it in chats or channels, or remove the watermark or notices. Sharing breaches this licence and may be reported to Selar and the platforms involved.

Fluency, its app, coach characters, text, design and guides belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any ownership.

7. Refunds and cancellations

Fluency Plus: you can cancel any time. Refunds for subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are handled by them. For anything else, write to support@fluencyai.app within 14 days and we will review it.

Exam guides: because a guide is a digital file delivered on purchase, refunds follow Selar's terms. If the file is faulty, missing or not what we described, contact us and we will fix it or put it right.

Where the law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, these terms do not limit it.

8. Your content and what we do with it

What you say and type stays yours. You give us a permission, limited to running and improving the service as described in our Privacy policy, to process it so Fluency can reply, correct you and remember what to practise.

We do not use your conversations to train AI models unless you opt in. Do not share anything you do not want processed, such as passwords, card numbers or other people's private information.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use Fluency to harass or threaten anyone, to create unlawful content or any sexual content involving minors, to impersonate others, to try to extract or copy the underlying models or prompts, to overload or attack the service, to resell access, or to break the law. We may limit use, remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we will say why where we can.

10. AI output and safety

AI replies can be inaccurate, biased or inappropriate. If something looks wrong or unsafe, report it from the conversation and we will review it. Fluency is not a crisis or emergency service; if you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.

11. Partner Program

Partners earn commission only on confirmed orders that carry their code, after a 14-day refund hold. Current rate: 20% on guides, subscriptions and bundles; attribution window: 30 days; minimum payout: $20; payouts are made monthly on the 15th. Rates and windows may change with notice. Fake orders, self-referral, incentivised or misleading promotion, or breaking the exam bodies' rules may lead to forfeited commission and removal.

Partners must disclose their relationship with Fluency wherever they promote it (for example “#ad” or “I earn a commission”) and must not claim to speak for Fluency or any exam body.

12. Third-party services

We rely on others, including app stores, Selar, payment providers and AI and speech providers. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their services.

13. Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using Fluency and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service; where possible we will warn you first and refund unused prepaid time.

14. Our liability

Fluency is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities (such as a missed exam date or a refused application), or for decisions you make based on AI replies or guides. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

15. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where FluencyAI is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. Please contact support@fluencyai.app first; most issues can be sorted quickly. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts there, unless the law gives you the right to go to court where you live.

16. General

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a business change. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Fluency. Events outside our reasonable control (outages of other providers, natural events, government action) do not make us in breach.

17. Copyright and takedown

If you think something on Fluency infringes your copyright, email support@fluencyai.app with what it is, where it is, and proof that you own it. We will review it and act where appropriate.

18. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Fluency after that, you accept the new terms. Questions: support@fluencyai.app.
